{ compass } Advent Day 9- Deuteronomy 6: 4-9 #srtadvent “Fellowship with God is what we were created for, but it no longer comes naturally. With that first sin: we became like compasses with no true north, our needle spinning, not knowing where to stop… Priests reminded Gods people who they were. They were not Gods, but they were Gods. They belonged to Him. We belong to Him.” I love the visual of us as a spinning compass- only finding true north when we find God. Only keeping to the direct…

It’s been a looooong time since I’ve shared any of my bible journaling so I thought I’d share one of my favorite pages from a couple weeks ago when I settled in to work through Numbers. I love how this page turned out… The simple imagery highlighted text the link in my mind to my One Little Word for the year (CLEAR) and the notes from my bible commentary that struck me: “even as they are beginning their journey in the wilderness God was preparing the Israelites for war. He organized them a…

Exodus 7 & 8 - Plagues 1-4 (Water to blood, frogs, gnats, and flies) This page was so much fun to do! I love all the different things going on! The story of the ten plagues that God sent on Egypt is very intriguing. Why would God do this?! Why turn the water into blood?! (Now that’s just gross!) Why send infestations of bugs and frogs?! (Can you just imagine how bad all the ladies were freaking out?! ) The reason is two fold: to disprove the Egyptian gods’ power and to prove God’s power. E…
When God revealed himself to Moses at the burning bush and commanded that Moses lead the Israelites out of Egypt Moses asked for God to tell Him who He should say commanded him to do so. God simply responded by saying “I am who I am”. Simply stated and so powerful…He is unchanging. His wisdom spans the ages and His promises give meaning and direction to our lives. He is constant and enduring and His word is eternal. He has always been and always will be. The beginning and the end. He is Lord of all and He will never change. When everything else fails God remains the same “I am who I am.” Exodus 3:4 #illustratedfaith #biblejournal #biblejournalingcommunity #biblejournaling by thefirstgradeparade
